Honoring Sgt Brian Mohl, Of The CT State Police

On September 2nd, 2021, after 25 years of service, Sgt Mohl lost his life in the line of duty, swept away in his cruiser during the recent heavy flooding, while trying to protect his community.

Col. Stavros Mellekas, Commanding Officer of the State Police reported that Sgt Mohl was working near Jacks Bridge Road, in Woodbury, when he radioed at 3:30 a.m. to report his cruiser was caught in swift floodwater and that he needed help.

“He dedicated his career and his life to public safety and protecting the lives of others. His tragic loss is a reminder of the dangers that State Troopers and first responders put themselves in every day when responding to emergencies, and they deserve our utmost respect,” Lamont said.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his coworkers, and the law enforcement community as a whole.
